1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over time. We use cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, session storage) to provide our services.

2. Cookie Categories

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the website to function. They cannot be turned off.

  • sb-auth-token: Supabase authentication session cookie. Required for login.
  • csrf-token: Cross-site request forgery protection.
  • session-storage: Temporary state for the current browsing session.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These remember your preferences and saved data. The site works without them, but features like favourites and passport selection won't persist.

  • firzar:shortlist: Saved countries (favourites) stored in localStorage.
  • firzar:compare: Selected countries for comparison stored in localStorage.
  • firzar:mypassport: Your selected passport/origin country.
  • gtia:itineraries: Saved travel itineraries in localStorage.
  • firzar:recently-viewed: Recently viewed countries.

2.3 Marketing / Affiliate Cookies

These are set by third-party affiliate networks to attribute bookings and award commissions. They load only after you accept marketing cookies.

  • Travelpayouts Drive: Site-wide script from emrld.ltd (marker 561222) loaded in the document head for Travelpayouts network attribution (flights, hotels, travel tools). Includes CMP compatibility attributes (data-cmp-ab).
  • Other affiliate network cookies: Set by partner networks (e.g. Partnerize / Wise, HasOffers / Saily, Discover Cars) when you click an affiliate link.
  • Analytics cookies: Anonymous usage statistics (if enabled).
Important: Marketing cookies are not set until you click "Accept" or "Accept all" on our cookie consent banner. You can use the site fully while rejecting marketing cookies.

3. Your Consent

Under the GDPR (EU/UK) and ePrivacy Directive, we require your prior consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Our cookie banner appears on your first visit and allows you to:

  • Accept all — enables all cookie categories.
  • Reject all — only strictly necessary cookies are set.
  • Customise — accept functional cookies while rejecting marketing cookies (granular opt-in).

  • Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies: Retained for up to 12 months, then auto-expire.
  • LocalStorage: Persists until you clear browser data or delete your account.
